Live Oak, TX (March 10, 2022) – A suspected drunk-driving accident has claimed one man’s life in the Live Oak area late Tuesday evening. At around 11:30 p.m., on March 8, emergency crews were requested on-site at a traffic-related incident on Pat Booker Road.

Reports from the Live Oak Police show that 32-year-old William James Ballestero was driving a pickup truck on Pat Booker Road during the evening hours. Ballestero ran a red light at the intersection of Live Oak Crossing and struck a second vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the second vehicle, 21-year-old Cameron Celeste Jacobson, sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ballestero was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and taken into custody.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Cameron Celeste Jacobson. Our thoughts are with them during these very difficult times.
