San Antonio, TX (March 7, 2022) – A pedestrian accident reported on the South Side of San Antonio took the life of one woman. At around 1:51 a.m., on March 5, emergency crews were notified that a major crash on Roosevelt Avenue required assistance.
Reports from authorities show that 47-year-old Mariza Chapa was walking in the 600 block of Roosevelt Avenue. For unknown reasons, a dark-colored sedan was traveling through the area. The vehicle struck the woman, causing severe injuries.
Chapa was rushed from the scene of the crash by EMS to Brooke Army Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
