San Antonio, TX (November 16, 2021) – One man was left injured as a result of a rear-end collision in the San Antonio area on Saturday evening, November 13. At around 11:30 p.m., authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 37, Piedmont Avenue.

Reports from the San Antonio Police Department show that a man was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound when his vehicle became involved in a rear-end collision in the 3600 block of Interstate 37. The impact of the crash caused the driver of the Tacoma to lose control of the vehicle and drive over an embankment. The truck then crashed into a line tower.

The man became trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The victim was then rushed to a local hospital for further care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the man injured in this accident. We hope for his full recovery.

Car Accidents in Texas

Every month, more than 17,100 people are left with injuries following motor vehicle accidents across our state. In many cases, victims have to go through extensive medical treatment and spend weeks off work to recover. Dealing with painful injuries is not something that most people are prepared to do. Dealing with the financial consequences that come with treating injuries can be downright devastating.

Some of the most common contributing factors to crashes in our state include:

  • Speeding: We see many drivers go above the speed limits while traveling along our roadways. When drivers are traveling at high rates of speed, they are likely to lose control of their vehicles and have problems stopping in time to avoid a crash.
  • Distraction: We see many accidents take place due to drivers who are using their cell phones. In other instances, drivers are distracted by food, radios, and even their passengers. Taking your attention off the road for a moment can have severe consequences.
  • Impairment: Many people are involved in accidents due to drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Driving while impaired significantly increases the chances of drivers losing control of their vehicles and causing devastating crashes.
