San Antonio, TX (February 1, 2022) – A motor vehicle collision reported in the Schertz area sent at least one person to a local hospital with injuries. Reports from SAPD show that a collision blocked the two left lanes of southbound Interstate 35 near Farm to Market Road 1103. The incident caused delays on the northeast side of the city that extended back to Solms Road.
EMS responded to treat victims as the police and firefighters worked to remove vehicles and debris from the roadway. EMS transported those in need of further care to area hospitals.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.

Car Accidents in Texas
The state of Texas is no stranger to motor vehicle accidents. In fact, one accident happens roughly every 2.5 minutes that ends in injuries. These incidents add up to more than 205,000 people left with injuries each year. Although many crashes result in minor injuries for those involved, a significant number of parties sustain severe injuries that require emergency medical care.
Some of the most common contributing factors to crashes in our state include:
Speeding: We see many drivers go above the speed limits while traveling along our roadways. When drivers are traveling at high rates of speed, they are likely to lose control of their vehicles and have problems stopping in time to avoid a crash.
Impairment: Many people are involved in accidents due to drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Driving while impaired significantly increases the chances of drivers losing control of their vehicles and causing devastating crashes.
Distraction: We see many accidents take place due to drivers who are using their cell phones. In other instances, drivers are distracted by food, radios, and even their passengers. Taking your attention off the road for a moment can have severe consequences.
