San Antonio, TX (November 12, 2021) – One woman has lost her life following a motor vehicle accident on the Northeast Side of San Antonio late Wednesday evening, November 10. At around 10 p.m., authorities were called to the site of a crash on O’Connor Road.

Reports from local authorities show that 31-year-old Emerald Madl was riding a motorcycle north on O’Connor Road when her vehicle collided with a Ford Ranger as the driver attempted to make a left turn in the 12100 block of the roadway.

As a result of the collision, Madl was ejected from her vehicle. As she stood near the driver’s side of the Ford to collect herself, she was struck by a small red two-door pickup truck.

Madl sustained severe injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Emerald Madl. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Texas

The loss of a loved one is one of the most challenging things we will ever have to deal with during our lifetime. Each year, traffic-related incidents claim the lives of over 3,900 people in the state of Texas. More than 400 victims are using motorcycles at the time of their accidents.

Motorcyclists are not protected by steel frames like most other people sharing the road. As a result, they are likely to be thrown from their vehicles and suffer severe injuries. In many cases, motorcyclists suffer fatal injuries in accidents due to some form of negligence. We see many riders killed in crashes caused by speeding drivers, drivers who run red lights, and those who fail to yield the right of way.
