Mathis, TX (January 11, 2022) – One woman has lost her life following a motor vehicle accident in the Mathis area on Saturday, January 8.

Reports from authorities show that a fire broke out inside a home located near Magnolia Street and Bee Street. The incident caused moderate damage to the home as it became fully engulfed in flames.

Lenore Flores was located unconscious near the doorway of the home. She was pulled from the structure and transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries.

A second victim, Juanita Flores, sustained fatal injuries in the accident and died at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
