This law firm is unlike any I've heard of
My good friend and I were rear-ended by a work truck while parked in a turn lane waiting for our chance to turn into their home. Without Brent Packard, Janiece, and others, I wouldn't have been able to pay for my home and food even with my 3 part-time jobs. This law firm is unlike any I've heard of. :)

However, the most life-altering experience we had was the care and consideration of the firm, which led to a very generous settlement that will ensure we have no worries in the future of our medical and personal needs.

    Truck Accidents
Confidential, 7-Figure Settlement 18-Wheeler Accident Resulting in Injury

Maria and her boyfriend George were in their car when an 18-wheeler hit them. Although the big rig was not going very fast, the car was crushed, and both Maria and George were badly injured. Maria and George both went to the emergency room, and the next day they had a family member call Dan Packard, who immediately got to work.

Dan sent a team to take photos of the accident scene, and he had an expert examine all the vehicles—especially the big rig. He followed up with Maria and George to ensure they were getting all the necessary medical treatment, and he talked to witnesses who were on the scene before and after the accident. He was with Maria and George every step of the way and took a personal interest in the case and in them.

At first, the trucking company tried to argue that the accident was Maria’s fault. Still, Mr. Packard sent a detailed settlement package that included the expert reports, photos, doctor reports, witness statements, and other evidence that all pointed to the trucker’s fault. Additionally, Mr. Packard uncovered evidence that the trucker was driving a defective vehicle that had not been serviced correctly. In the end, the trucking company’s insurance paid a confidential, seven-figure settlement that drastically improved the financial future for both Maria and George.

    Product Liability
$8.5 Million Jury Verdict Defective Plastic Baskets Caused Stacks of Bread to Fall
A bakery ordered some plastic baskets that would allow the bakery to load and transport baked bread. These baskets were supposed to fit together so they would stack safely together, but the baskets shifted, and the stacks of bread fell and broke an employee’s back. Dan Packard was hired to go against the basket manufacturer, who denied any fault. With his team of experts, Dan identified the design defect that caused the baskets to break. Just before trial, the basket manufacturer offered to settle the case for $100,000, claiming that the Plaintiff did not have much of a chance to win at trial. Dan rejected the offer and tried the case to a federal jury. The jury returned a verdict in our favor for $8,500,000 – 85 times more than the defendant offered.

Susan served in the U.S. military until her major depression, severe back pain, and migraine headaches made her unfit for duty. She filed for Social Security benefits but was denied. She almost gave up several times. She then called the Packard Law Firm. Honestly, she was half-expecting that things would be the same, but they weren’t Samuel Packard knew exactly what parts of her medical file would support her case – things that she had not focused on before. He also explained to her what the judge would be looking for and had her get some additional medical tests that would help her case. When she got to the hearing, things started looking bad. The judge was very skeptical of her case and started saying things that made it obvious that he was about to rule against her. He just wouldn’t agree that she was disabled like we knew she was! But just when it appeared that the hearing was going to go against her, Samuel respectfully but persistently convinced the reluctant judge to order a further medical evaluation that would either prove or disprove her medical impairments. It took a few extra months, but after the results came in, the judge couldn’t deny the evidence any longer. Thus, after years of frustration and rejection, Susan finally won her disability case, and she can now get the help she needs! We couldn’t be happier for her!

Angelica suffered from chronic back and neck pain, depression, anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, and carpel tunnel syndrome, which made it very difficult for her to keep a full-time job. She thought she might qualify for Social Security disability benefits, but she was unsure. Rather than confront the bureaucracy alone, Angelica thought it would be better to get representation right from the start. So she called the Packard Law Firm, and they were happy to help her. They gathered all the necessary paperwork, presented it in the best possible light, and filed the claim for her. Unfortunately, Angelica’s health continued to worsen even after she filed, and she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in addition to all the other problems she had. Her husband then decided to leave her and moved out, leaving her financially destitute and causing her to get behind on her mortgage. She lost her health insurance, got her car repossessed, and was left with no money for food and medicine. Soon, she had to be hospitalized because she was not getting proper medical treatment. Samuel Packard took action and notified the Social Security Administration that this case should be expedited on grounds that it was a “critical claim based on dire need.” His request was granted, and she quickly had her hearing scheduled. Samuel did a great job at the hearing, which was approved only 14 days later. Things are still tight, but she now has enough money to support herself, and most importantly, she has health insurance so she can get the medical care and medicine she needs.

Packard Wins Disability Hearing For Injured Woman

Belinda Brooks is a kind, caring, and giving person that is well-known to all of us at The Packard Law Firm. Belinda Brooks, a wife of 33 years, mother of three children, and employee of 35 years was no stranger to hard work and adversity.  For example, once, when she had no transportation and times were especially rough, she walked to and from both of her jobs in order to help support her family. Throughout her life, Belinda gave all she had to take care of her family.

Belinda’s Injury and Inability To Work

One day, Belinda suffered a grave injury to her lower back when she fell to the floor. She could not move, and, at that moment, she knew that she needed professional help. She was treated by her doctor and diagnosed with neurological damage to her lower back. It was also revealed that she suffered from complications to her heart and diabetes. With these physical conditions, Belinda was no longer able to work full-time.  She reached out for help with the social security administration but was met with paperwork, setbacks, and denials.

Packard Law Firm Joins The Picture

After her fourth denial, Belinda was sitting on her couch, feeling overwhelmed and helpless, when she saw a commercial of Samuel Packard and The Packard Law Firm. In the commercial, Samuel explained how his mother had difficulty obtaining a disability and that he could help those with similar challenges. Belinda instantly felt a connection and soon signed up with The Packard Law Firm.  She met Samuel in person, where he made her a promise; that if she would continue to obtain medical treatment for her medical needs, he would take care of her case. Her hope was immediately restored, and, in her own words, she said, “I felt like I had found an old friend.”

Belinda continued receiving medical treatment for her medical conditions while the Packard Law Firm continued to fight for her case for the next two years! Belinda’s faith was put to the test when she discovered that her case was scheduled to be reviewed for a final decision by one of the most difficult judges in all San Antonio. Belinda went to see “Cristo De Negro” by the downtown courthouse. She stood before him and made a promise that if she won her case, she would give up something personal – something she loved. She would give up her hair as a humble token of her willingness to trust in Him.

    The Hearing

She went to her hearing, and Samuel Packard stood up and told the judge that Belinda could not work on a regular and ongoing basis. He explained that “Belinda is the very kind of person that the system was designed to help.” The case was concluded, and Samuel told Belinda the words she had been waiting to hear for so long: “Belinda, Congratulations, you won your case!” Belinda thanked the Packard Law Firm for never giving up on her case. She felt like the truth finally came through, and she was grateful that she would now receive the medical and income benefits that she so desperately needed. Belinda knew that, just as Samuel Packard kept his promise, she would keep hers.  As she shaved her head that night and felt the locks of hair fall onto her shoulders, she felt the burden that she had been carrying for so long lifted. In its place, for the first time in a very long time, that burden was replaced with gratitude and trust in Him.

    Car Accidents

    The Accident

Emily lived in a rural area about 30 miles outside of San Antonio, and she was on her way home that evening when all of this happened. The highway was divided by a grass median, and there were two lanes going in each direction. In that area, the rural roads that intersect with the highway don’t have an overpass or traffic lights, just stop signs. If someone wants to cross the highway, they have to ensure that traffic is clear in both directions.

That evening, the other driver thought he could make it across, but he wasn’t even close. The front of Emily’s SUV crashed into the front passenger side of the man’s car. The speed limit out there is 70 miles per hour, and she was going about that fast. The impact flipped his car over onto its hood and spun it around. The impact redirected Emily’s SUV, and she drove off the road. Both vehicles came to a rest far from the roadway.

At-fault Driver Was Not Covered By Insurance

The police at the scene did their investigation and gave Emily’s family the information about the guy who caused the wreck. After a few weeks, his car insurance company said that since the driver was not listed under the policy, they were not obligated to pay for any of Emily’s medical bills. It’s a squirrely rule here in Texas, but in certain situations, when someone is driving a borrowed car, the car insurance company doesn’t have to pay. Luckily, Emily’s policy included coverage for when the other driver doesn’t have any insurance. We were able to work things out with her own insurance company, and they paid the full policy amount. Since then, Emily has been able to heal, not only physically but emotionally and financially as well.
