San Antonio, TX (January 19, 2022) – One woman has lost her life as a result of a fire incident on the North Side of San Antonio on Monday morning, January 17.
Reports from authorities show that a home located in the 100 block of Brightwood Place caught on fire at around 4:30 a.m. firefighters rushed to the scene and went to work on battling the blaze.
Crews closed off the roadway near Broadway and Nacogdoches Road as they worked to clear the scene.
Crews located a man in his 60s inside the home. He was rushed to a local hospital with injuries.
Inside, firefighters located 68-year-old Debra Briner suffering from burns and soot and smoke inhalation injuries. Briner was pronounced deceased.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
