When Michael Gross was born, his physicians did not think he was going to make it. He had a medical condition where his heart was essentially reversed and crudely connected to his lungs. Refusing to give up, and out of desperation to save his son’s life, his father approached countless physicians until he found one willing to perform an experimental heart procedure. The doctors were amazed by Michael resilience. Over the next few years, Michael underwent several open heart surgeries and defied all odds. Although his heart did cause some limitations, when asked, Michael believes that he had a normal and healthy childhood.
Michael did well in high school and attended the University of Miami with a number of scholarships. While there he created a nonprofit organization called “Students with Heart Foundation,” whose mission is to “provide financial assistance by means of scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students who suffer from all different types of heart disease and deformities”. After he graduated, he went to University of Miami School of Law where he also excelled. He joined the mock trial team and was voted as one of the “Ten to Watch.”
Michael graduated from the University of Miami’s Law School in 2013. After practicing on his own, taking any case and challenge thrown his way, he decided to move to San Antonio in search for a law firm that emphasized Social Security Disability law. Michael felt this area of law would allow him to directly impact people's’ lives. He approached the Hearing Office in San Antonio to find the best disability law firm and was referred to The Packard Law Firm “hands down”.
When being interviewed by one of the founding partners, Samuel Packard asked why he should be selected among the other job candidates. Michael looked straight into Samuel’s eyes and with conviction and resignation he said “I have a lot of fight in me. You want me… you need me to be on your team. My goal is to become one of the best Social Security Disability attorneys in San Antonio”. Looking back, it is our belief that Michael Gross’ sincerity, work ethic, and passion has caused him to do just that.
As a Social Security Disability attorney with the Packard Law Firm, Michael Gross has accumulated valuable experience and has helped thousands of clients win their Disability benefits. Those that have had the privilege of working with him say that Michael is relentless when it comes to standing up for what is right. He loves advocating for those disadvantaged by a system that was, ironically, designed to assist them.
